I would definitely not recommend the Seagate Backup Plus, unless you don't care about the speed at which it operates. Reading and writing files on the Backup Plus is much, much slower than the Seagate Expansion model and the Expansion is typically $99 - $110 on either Newegg or Amazon.

It sounds like Chromecast will work with Plex and Amazon as long as you use Tabcasting, which although not optimal will still work.
