If this is on a university connection, which it appears to be, then sure there would be a lot of bottlenecks that could inhibit speeds. You could have overhead from encryption, other users eating into that bandwidth by printing/surfing/downloading of their own, plus you could have potential external servers along the

Ultra 105/10 business-class cable internet through Mediacom.

Take Mbps / 8 = MB/s (8 bits in a byte). In this case it's 115.75 MB/s, so you were close. :)

I hate you so much right now... I'm kidding of course. But wow, that's incredible!

Anything for Mediacom DVR's? The brand they typically use is Pace although I believe they also have Motorola units.

Tandy 1400 LT, son. Puttin' in WORK!

I saw a very similar price for the Crucial 960 GB M500 SSD on Amazon the other day and couldn't believe how far the prices have fallen on those high capacity SSD's. The shitty thing though is that lower capacity SSD's - say, 128 GB and up - are still way too overpriced. I mean, look at that, you're getting $0.57/GB

You're right on the price tag situation as far as the iPhone is concerned. Most carriers prices on iPhones are in-line with Android prices and sometimes Androids are higher, but what about all of the other devices that Apple produces?

Widgets are amazing. It's why I'll never own an iOS device. Well, that and Apple's price tags ...and their patent trolling ...and pretty much their entire ethos, but I digress.

Me too :)

I'm definitely going to be trying this out when I find the time.

Yeah I hear ya. Most of the stuff I get is from Bandcamp downloads or Soundcloud. Do you use Winamp? You can generate an HTML playlist automatically with it.

I would say that most of the hate directed towards iTunes is validated, just the same as most of the hate directed at Microsoft is justified as well. I don't think most people complain about this stuff just because it's fashionable. Trolls troll, but anybody who legitimately has a problem with iTunes or WMP or

Whitson, on a side note do you have accessibility to your playlist for public consumption? We're totally into the same music and I'd love to see your collection to scope some new bands that I might not have heard of yet.

First of all, that fountain is awesome. I'd love to do something like this, but I live in the Midwest and so half of the year is ridiculously stupid cold and the other half is hotter than donkey balls. Would you have to disconnect those electronics in the winter?

Same here. Bought the app for full price 6 months ago and have been very pleased with it.

I don't know exactly how many simultaneous streams it will support but I've always been curious about this. My guess is that for audio, it could probably do quite a few without breaking a sweat. For video though, all of that transcoding is going to add up fast and you're bound to hit a bottleneck.

I've sang my praises for Plex all over Lifehacker. I use it all the time. We have two Android phones, an HP Touchpad that is dual-booting WebOS and Android, two 360's, two Samsung TV's, etc. They all interact with Plex and it's great. I love the interface/UX, simplicity, flexibility... it really is a great
