The fact that he ran when caught shows that he wasn’t too drunk to know damned well what he was doing.

He still looks like a generic white boy. A slightly disheveled and possibly drunk generic white boy, but I guess this isn’t quite the smoking gun everyone was waiting for. If anything though, he looks like he was pretty sober, sober enough to know an unconscious girl was in no position to consent to sex.

This case hits way too close to home for me on the “one mistake shouldn’t ruin his life,” argument. That message was so deeply ingrained in me that it took me a year to report my rape. I didn’t want one night to destroy my rapists entire future (because I barely believed myself due to my patchy memories of the night)

I hope they have a prenup. My spousal support payments to the Moon nearly bankrupted me after the divorce.

That’s really true about the personality, too. I can do without Sarandon when she’s in Ideologue Mode, but in general she’s a charmer, and I’ve always loved what she said about her character’s scene with Miriam Blaylock (Catherine Deneuve) in The Hunger.

No. She’s got a great personality. And great tits. Sharing is caring.

Listen, if my boobs look like that when I am sixty-nine years old, I’ll be getting them out every chance I have, too!

Bull fucking shit. I reported boys grabbing my tits MULTIPLE TIMES to my school and they fucking got detention. So no, this is not okay but don’t act like boys don’t get away with this bullshit EVERYDAY.

This is all very strange. I hope we get to the bottom of it.

I’m sure the victims thought (naively, perhaps) that the case would focus on whether or not he assaulted them, and whether or not he obtained consent.

He won’t do any actual forced labor. They’ll keep him in a hotel until they get some concession from the US (or just some attention) and they can release him. This is getting to be routine.

I am not denying that, if that narrative is correct, he did act very foolishly. But he did not hurt anyone with his foolishness, and is now facing a really horrific punishment that he may well not survive— and even if he does, his life will never be the same. Based on his actions, I’d say there’s a good chance that

Man, I feel for this kid. Yes what he did was completely idiotic (assuming he actually did it, I don’t exactly think the North Korean government is above coercing a confession) but he is really quite young and it’s entirely possible he won’t survive 15 years forced labor.

Preach!

So you do not believe men ever come across as entitled, yet you write a comment that is seventeen paragraphs long about how women are wrong to share their experiences in a forum aimed at women, because you personally have not encountered the same experiences?

Given that you're disregarding anything unless you've personally experienced it, as one man to another (because clearly you'd never take the word of a woman) I'd say no, you are most certainly not "an ally."
