There's so much shitty music in the world. ICP (and Nickelback) seem to take way more than their fair share of ridicule.
True, there were definitely Nazis and other assorted racist assholes in the punk scene, and it was a problem. But No Quarter said the Dead Kennedys should "fuck off" because they "toured with White Power bands." This Lester Bangs article doesn't even mention the DKs, so as a citation it doesn't back up the point.

In East Asian countries (China, Japan, etc.), the swastika is often used as a Buddhist symbol. You can find it on maps denoting Buddhist temples, for example. It's usually reversed from the Nazi usage, as you say, but not always, and it's flat rather than tilted.
