You'll likely have to submit a deposit that should be returned to you when your lease terminates. Make sure it's in writing what will be deducted from this deposit (carpet cleaning, painting walls). Some states have laws that limit what the deposit can be used for (e.g. not for "regular" cleaning).

@NotSoSiniSter: How much money a teacher makes has nothing to do with how much (or how little) is in the curriculum. Don't you know? The government sets the curriculum. The union sets (or demands) the pay.
