@mig000: Nice. I didn't know about this before.

@holyspidoo: If you have kids (especially the under-18 lives-with-you kind), the real-life face time is much better (more meaningful, more effective) than FaceTime.

@JDUB: This!

@tobylane: Unfortunately, those 14 y-o girls are now 20-somethings. I have an "adult" relative that used this phrase on me a couple years ago.

Google Calendar users:

@AmphetamineCrown: I don't need to backup TBs of data yet, but I've given it some thought.

@tuxus: If someone just doesn't get it and you have to explain it again, follow your explanation with an explanation point. It might help.

@xendrome: I should have said "I need my data synchronized now." It's possible that your most recent data is on a computer that you can't physically get to.

@pnikkosis: It's not stupid. It's "I need my data now, and I have no idea how long Dropbox is going to be down, so what are my options?" No one said anything about abandoning Dropbox altogether. Just trying to get a workaround.

@allocate: In Windows 7, set up a scheduled task that does nothing, and enable the check box that says "Wake the computer to run this task."

@acidrain69: Alumni association? I'm not a member of mine, but they regularly send the alumni magazine and the occasional address labels.

Dang. Earlier this week I had a question I was going to ask here, and now I've completely forgotten what the question was.

@JacaByte: I clean the lint filter after every load, but I've never seen a laundry room that is not dusty. Just sayin'.

@das7002: The wifi service is a physical product. Since using radiation to convey information from point A to point B is something I learned in physics class, I'm pretty sure that wifi service involves physical products and is a physical product.

If you need to search by event rather than by date, then just search by event rather than by date. (e.g. search your Google Calendars.) No need to maintain a captain's log spreadsheet.

@Albert Yuen: There's no risk of damage due to static discharge as long as the electric outlets are properly grounded AND the computer case is kept closed.

I also found out that an overwhelming majority of my neighbors (I'm in an apartment complex) were using radio channel 11 (must be a default). So I switched to a less-used channel.

Finally got around to making attaching the DIY antenna booster to my wifi router. Used inSSIDer to measure the boosted signal in the playground outside my apartment... ~10 dB higher. Yaay!

@TheFu: What are the security issues of Firewire? And how does eSATA avoid such issues? Thanks.
