There's another factor in broadband speeds, especially for us broadband-over-cable users. Many cable companies advertise a "PowerBoost" or "TurboBoost" where your first 20 MB or so of burst downloading occur at a higher throughput then the succeeding downloads. That can definitely mess up your speedtest.net…

If you use the borrowed money to purchase (i.e. invest in) something that will appreciate during the time you repay the debt, then you use debt to quickly purchase that thing and gradually repay as that thing appreciates. Without good debt, it might not be possible…
