@ericesque: On the contrary, I think apps are moving AWAY from standard controls and consistent theming. Yes, it appears that the everyone in the Windows world is converging on using Aero glass and rich ribbons (the buzzword for fancy toolbar), but everyone does it DIFFERENTLY. Compare the glass effects on the windows

@Homerjay has ABSA Fever: Soft drinks, coffee, tea, and juices are really cheap, too. The restaurant needs to make a buck off of you. That's 100% why.

Awesome. very nice use of lighting, good stowage of tons of gear. But the TV feeds would drive me nuts.

@SigmundTheSeaMonster: If it's useless and toxic to the environment, take it to your local hazardous household waste collection center. (Google: Hazardous household waste [your city])

@hilikusopus: You keep your Favorites Folder in the kitchen?

@Adam Posey: Your argument is pretty ridiculous.

@jupiterthunder: SMH at Christians who ignore the second commandment.

@zakany: There's no distinction. That's why Gmail's labels are implemented as folders when using an IMAP client. When you apply multiple labels to an email in Gmail, Gmail maintains copies in each IMAP "folder" corresponding to each label.

@TimothyT: I'm not above paying a few bucks a month for reliable backup. But c'mon, we're tinkerers here, so DIY is definitely more "interesting", and going through the trouble of figuring it out, testing it, debugging it, and tailoring it for my needs is part of the fun.

@briancam54: I'm in graduate school, and it's definitely a plus to have a study buddy. Ph.D. is mostly an individual endeavor, but it helps to have a lab mate to commiserate with.

I have a strong opinion about jury duty: It's a serious civic responsibility that should not be shirked.

@joeny1980: In the Los Angeles Superior Court jury selection I went through, the judge got REALLY pissed at the people who said they would not be able to set aside their racial or cop prejudices for the trial. Instead of avoiding selection, the judge re-assigned them to selection in civil court ON ANOTHER DAY.

I found this post a little boring.

@Medfordite: First 2 sentences of your comment are confusing. You didn't mean "boon" (a great benefit, a timely blessing). You probably meant "curse", or at least "PITA".

@gerrrg: Heh, that's what I was thinking!

I'm not sure I could live with gray, but I definitely like the use of two shades of the same color on different walls.

@ballicherry: I'd have to agree. A few seconds of silence is fine while trying to figure out your next steps, but begging your audience to shut off their note-taking devices and put them on the floor, and then asking them to POLICE THEMSELVES... that is not graceful at all.

@jazzytay: Actually dust is not bad for electronics. HEAT is bad for electronics. Depending on how dusty your room is, open up the computer every now and then to blow the dust out. Do not use a vacuum cleaner because static charge from the rubber belts can destroy the computer chips.

I'm gonna have to try it!
