I always thought they were powered by the rider's sense of self-importance.

Dont worry. I'm african american and sometimes even I have trouble translating ebonics.

And at the end of the day it's still a nissan, not a beautiful aston martin or porsche.

The Nissan GT-R:
A fast, crazy, amazingly well balanced, all-wheel-drive, relatively inexpensive, good looking (in my opinion) corning machine that still has a soul.

And for some reason...I don't like it.

That's like saying serial killers are OK to exist.

Haw, saw this immediately after I submitted my Corolla post. :)

Dear god, that thing is ugly.

Another car related tidbit from the economist:

My dad has had 3. They're my favorite car he has ever owned, including a maserati gransport, coupe, quattroporte, bmw e30/e46 m3, e39 m5, etc etc. NOTHING drives like the RS6, the way it puts the power down is ridiculous.

I want to make the argument that the special variant cars of 10ish years ago were relatively superior to the special variants of today. A6 v. RS6. S500 v. S55. Volvo S60 v. S60R. Gosh, even the Mazda 6 v. Mazdaspeed 6 and Ford Focus v. SVT.

What is crazy is you could pick one up for say 26k, pay APR $2,500 to upgrade the ECU and have a 520hp / 538lb-ft beast. Most people on the road would identify it as an older A6, talk about sleeper. Not too shabby....

There's one in my area, actually (one of the 90 that made it to Canada, it seems). It goes well with the two RS4s.

I work with a guy that has one of these in silver. He's got an aftermarket warranty on it. Good thing, too. He just replaced the tranny. Also, it's chipped.

That's the view I always took of it - in particular I always though it was one that was modified to be a flying car (as per the ad that "airs" immediately after seeing the Mustang)

That's another way of looking at it - how do we know it wasn't supposed to represent a now 30-year old 80s car that's been modified?

I agree everything is highly set up and edited, but it's still a very entertaining show. If I wanted pure car info read from the manufactures booklet from people with no personality delivered in the driest of dry methods then I would watch Motorweek. But I can read for myself from motor trend or the internet. so I

yeah i think you're alone
