IMS doesn’t want F1 back. F1 left the US because IMS saw that the idea of paying a series to come to your venue is absolutely stupid. Tracks such as Silverstone, Monza, and the Nurburgring are perfect examples for proving why it is a stupid idea.

Have been thinking about this. Believe I have an answer for you. Having the wing backs there serves as a lever with the rear axle being the fulcrum. It allows for the wing to push more on the rear wheels than simply pushing straight down vertically.

F1 relies on tracks for safety. IndyCar relies on the cars and the tracks but the cars are still miles ahead of F1.

The 911s might be fast but raw pace doesn’t win a race. IMSA has other ways of balancing the cars, such as refueling, and that is where they are getting shafted.
