Like a giant Alec Baldwin….

Ugh. Ken Burns. Who I like (although he really should find someone else to cut his hair). The Jazz documentary had a lot going for it but it also had way too much Wynton Marsalis trying to sound poetic while basically saying nothing (seriously, if you do a close reading on his little proclamations, they usually

I can't remember the other book I read about him. It wasn't the autobiography but it was fairly entertaining and informative, and didn't sound like it was the transcription of an angry old man. I tried looking on Amazon but that didn't help at all.

There are plenty of books that cover his entire career. Even his autobiography, while a bit heavy on his "lost" period, covers his whole career. The cool period was basically one album and about a one year.

The movie should have been a behind the scenes look at the Honda Scooter ad shoot.

Wow this sounds pretty bad. At the very least, shouldn't the "writer" work for a magazine or newspaper that actually covers jazz? Maybe I'm too young but I don't remember a lot of deep dive jazz articles in Rolling Stone. This morning I heard about a Charlie Parker Opera on NPR. The libretto dramatizes Parker's

I once ate a 5 pound hamburger that cost a horrifying $7.50 from a scary place in Virginia. I can't recommend it.

My favorite was when Marky Mark was filmed saying that he's really talented.

Allright death. Give it a rest.

You obviously didn't see Overnight. Which you should because its a fascinating car wreck in slow motion.

He should ask Troy Duffy, who is sadly much more successful.

I once got into a disagreement with a friend of a friend who had taken an apartment that was reserved for low income people (NYC housing tax abatement). She had no income because she was trying to be an actor right out of college (with no experience and very little talent) and felt that it was totally ok to pay $400

That got old quickly as well but there wasn't a long televised trial. Just Bill Clinton looking horribly sleep deprived in all of his public appearances for a few months.

I don't remember a trial that stretched on for months that was televised. Plus that had way more mullets than the OJ trial.

I don't like identifying with my parents but I can't help think "why would I want to watch this?" I was in college when this happened and once was enough. Same with the Tanya Harding story. And the Clarence Thomas hearings. I don't have a lawn but will you please get off of my front stoop?

"We have books about TV"

Again, almost no idea what you're talking about.

Thanks for including it in the conversation

What other projects are taking up his time?
