There is an internet series called Guitar Moves where Matt Sweeney (I'd never heard of him either) interviews a bunch of guitarists. They're all really interesting and entertaining but his interview with Dean Ween goes into a Jimmy Page/bootleg discussion and how he was the "brownest" guitarist alive when it came to

Can't agree more on that one. Richards is a great guitarist and a great songwriter. Page was a better guitarist and a different but equally talented song/riff writer.

Yeah they had their favorites, established bands. And even then they were a bit selective. I think I finally abandoned all hope when I read their review of Zooropa (a fun but useless album). Something about the fall of the berlin wall and bosnia etc…. I made a brief detour to Spin (they nicely savaged a STP album

Rolling Stone got a whole bunch of stuff wrong for almost their entire existence. I'm not sure who actually reads that anymore.

I'm sure that argument didn't come up often…

I guess they stopped, but they did it an awful lot in the beginning and kept it up until at least the fourth album. I still think they're great and most of the "stolen" songs aren't just replicas (i.e. You need Love vs Whole Lotta Love), but if they had credited people properly, a lot of musicians would have made

Accused of stealing riffs from Jake Holmes? They stole an entire song from Jake Holmes. Amazingly, his song was also called Dazed & Confused. They obviously expanded it greatly (actually it was a Yardbirds live staple) but come on, it was clearly someone else's song. I think they're great but they weren't the best

I thought it was a van. But good point.

I always thought Num Pang was a banh mi chain shop. I guess I was wrong….

My uncle would have found that funny at some point in the early 80s.

People aren't campsites. Real relationships can be quite messy. That's why advice from the unexperienced typically doesn't get followed. But shooting your spouse (or anyone for that matter) is way beyond the realm.

You felt the need to share this? Why?

I would argue that this is the opposite of hipsterism and seems born from genuine laziness/unwillingness to try something new.

Oh my god the pain.

Someone answered "BioDome" to a Jeopardy question a few weeks ago. The correct answer was BioSphere 2.

Its sort of never the right time for this shit

Not sure why I would want to listen to an hour ramble about a 40 minute show.

Perhaps you should keep these facts to yourself….

No credentials necessary and he is a fine guitarist (I think he even studied at Berklee). Not that you asked but I typically don't like jazz guitar too much, mostly because it always sounds so noodley, passive & boring, well, all the things most people don't like about jazz. There are a few exceptions like Grant

So is Ted Nugent. I think its meant to be ridiculous, but I could be wrong.
