Cue the gender-normative sarcasm. Oh, wait, I see it's already here.

it's funny to me that even with the pornstar angle, a lot of sex-positive feminists, who when a story comes up about a porn star or a sex worker or someone who uses sex for profit, are open minded & support her/him. i guess the sympathies lie with them as long as they are victims.

Also, did you just refer to drugging and violently raping a 13 year old and molesting a 7 year old as "transgressions"?

Seriously. No one cares that half of hollywood actively works with & supports child molesters. No one gives a fuck that Eminem beat up his wife, rapped about killing his mother & raping other women. No one talks about Eric Clapton or Costello being the biggest fucking racists in the world, they all are respected

I love when people cite the amount of stars a comment got as proof of their being right. No, it could just mean that x amount of people are also wrong. Bring real evidence to support your point, or else don't come at all.

No

I think the difference is that without talking at all about the people who committed these atrocities you are just saying "this thing happened." It naturalizes it in a way that "these people did this" does not, IMO.

White people benefit from the oppression of people of color even if we weren't the ones doing the oppressing and aren't personally racist. There is no son of a murderer and rapist privilege.

It makes the oppression seem more passive. Something that just happened as opposed to something white people did to uphold white supremacy. That lets contemporary white people forget that we benefit from a system of white supremacy that hasn't completely gone away.

It isn't about it being obvious. It is about white people getting all bent out of shape for bringing up atrocities of the past. How we are constantly walking on our tip toes not to upset the white people. As if the whole world would crumble and fall apart if white people were reminded that some of their parents and

Lynching a 14 year old boy for catcalling isn't a bit extreme. It is a monstrosity. No matter who his parents were.

Can a bigoted homophobe truly be cool?

Like I said, you can keep your creepy pedo priests. I'm having none of your apologist shenanigans.

They also encourage the poor to become poorer, and create MORE poor people by outlawing birth control. They are actually responsible for a lot of the suffering in Catholic Third World countries, so it's pretty much a zero-sum game as far as "helping" the poor.

nope. they are *the worst*. sos, but you can keep your made-y up bullshit institutions and youre welcome to 'em.

There are so many underrated black female artists. Janelle Monae, Esperanza Spalding, Jazmine Sullivan, Ledisi, Elle Varner...I could go on forever.

Nope. Beyonce will be fine. Ledisi deserved the chance to perform.

Bey would never sing WITH Ledisi because Ledisi would blow her out the water. I enjoy Beyonce's entertainment
