Death mainly "matters" simply because organisms are programmed to fear it.

Bathing is not (usually) sex.
Indeed, what do you think of "pointless pablum for weak minds"?
Why do you assume that the maze matters? Just because a couple of characters say so? They say and do many things, but it's interesting how people decide which are more likely to be significant. Like in real life, it seems more prudent to me to not believe what anybody says, and see what happens.
…says the person who tries answering with a one-word sentence, devoid of any grammar or syntax whatsoever. Please, do pull the other one.
I care about real people, not fictional characters who exist as ciphers for a writer's imagination. And even real people are only programmed to believe that their sense of identity is substantial is persistent. So they tend to write characters who exhibit similar delusions.
There's an easy way out of feeling "teased" - don't let yourself get played like a fiddle. Watch the show without any expectations. That way you can critique it based upon what actually happens, rather than if it is answering your own pet questions.
My guess would be that robots are simply much faster. Humans are generally limited to a perceptual window of tenths of a second, whereas computers can decide upon a pattern match or make a decision in thousandths of a second easily even today. So even without mind-reading, in arbitrary scenarios, they can act in ways…
IMO it's an interesting read anyway. And as Ford lampshaded, it need not be an accurate description of human cognition to be a useful model.
I was just going to post a speculation about if there might be a surge in loans of Jaynes' book from the world's libraries tomorrow.
They are living in Andrea Dworkin's future!
They have hinted in the previous episode that there are other motives behind the park beyond the entertainment it appears to be, which are known only to high-level management.
Most robots are people, and will be for many years.
I think you are overemphasizing the sexual attraction of the park. Even now, billions of dollars are spent and made on video games which are purely intangible simulations, and people don't "get their rocks off" with those.
Or maybe they are recent models but Wyatt can put them into "diagnostic mode", like the technicians do.
"It doesn't make for entertaining sci-fi either"
The theme to "Gone with the Mind"…
Larry "Bud" Melman? I never thought about how badly he needed to be in Westworld until now.
When it was *implied* that he was going to rape Delores. Maybe it wasn't easy because he is actually a programmer or something, He definitely comes off as menacing, but appears to be playing a bigger game than mere rape and murder suggest. It remains to be seen if those deeper depths are simply more psychopathy and…
I never did say how much of your critique I read, so don't be presumptuous!
