Yup, and most “high profile” efforts haven’t even panned out so it would be an even steeper uphill battle for small devs at this point.

A few years ago I would’ve pegged this genre as one that would be a hotbed for indie devs to jump in and iterate on endlessly, but it seems to have just stagnated and nobody that comes to it seems to have exciting ideas. Hoping this one is a positive for the genre.
Barry has a deal with the feds for witness protection with Sally, set up earlier in the season. Pretty sure that’s what we’re seeing here.
Definitely happens, I’d just like to see it become a standard practice. You see the reviews for this with every one noting “there’s a day 1 patch coming” and it’s not that I disregard the entire review after that, but it does throw into question everything that’s written about performance. Some Day 1 patches do…
That’s good to know, I didn’t see them on the Steam store pages so I assumed they were never made available. Patching them in for free is even better.
There are some things that contribute to bloated file sizes that don’t indicate potential performance issues, like uncompressed audio files.
There should always be an option to at least purchase the pre-order bonus stuff separately since this situation is happening all the time. You want to give us pre-order incentives but the customers that do are the ones that get burned the hardest, especially if the issues persist for weeks or months, or never get…
Whenever I run into this situation after 2 guesses I bail and start trying to confirm/eliminate other letters that will fit. I prefer keeping my streak alive over getting answers in 2-3 guesses vs. 4-6.
Tim Sweeney is a cock. I’m not naive enough to think Gabe Newell is some kind of “good guy” or that there were any winners to be had in the Epic vs. Steam shit, but it’s surprising how many articles were written even on this site that were willing to paint him in a good light during that whole fiasco. He’s obnoxious…
Almost yes, but not quite
I think awkward/cringe comedy is kind of his thing
why hope for failure? shouldn’t the hope be the game turns out amazing the developers succeed?
Spoilers for Horizon Forbidden West and Burning Shores follow:
Dope
You’d think they’d take my version of events as it gives two issues to present - bring up the troubled development/cut content angle, and still talk about the spin-off/greed angle.
The stuff I said after clearly describing it as “unnecessary nitpicking”? No, it doesn’t.
There are no laws against this, have you hired someone before? I have in a corporation, I’m not sure where you’re getting this from. This isn’t a breach of privacy, especially if you as the applicant are found to be misrepresenting what happened.
I still don’t know if this really explains it. If this was known to be coming for a while it seems like the HogLeg team did a lot of unnecessary work. I still think that sometime during the now-forgotten troubled development of HogLeg they just realized it was something they had to cut and from there saw an…
I thought that was pretty funny, I’ve never seen a survey ask for lifetime hours before.
Employers will check references.
