I’m not convinced the buddy system even works properly. The red ring will say at a sliver for far longer than it should, then it will suddenly jump to complete or almost finished. I have the same problem with eggs, occasionally. The distance tracking seems to get stuck quite often.

Right. I really don’t find this to be annoying or unreasonable. Two weeks to level up Pikachu as opposed to only finding him twice since the game has been open? I’ll take it.

So, I assigned Pikachu as my buddy and it doesn’t show him on the screen at all. I go to assign a different buddy to see if I can see that Pokemon and it won’t bring the buddy option up to change him out. Sigh. Just a normal day for Niantic.
