Ghost and Goblins on NES. It was one of two games I had. I was 6? at the time and that intro cutscene plus zombies just coming out of the ground terrified me. I never forgot that game. As a grownup, I’ve attempted to beat the game. Doesn’t scare me anymore, but still can’t finish it haha

Personally, I just felt like the game was a decent checklist with solid gameplay. Story may interest some but my main objective was to kill Uruks and complete everything on the map haha
