And this is part of why Mad Men was such a great show.
Forgot about that little issue of tires exploding and rolling over Explorers? Or the Pinto’s blowing up on rear impact (also Crown Vics and Mustangs)?
I’ve owned a car with factory suede seats (87 Pontiac) and they held up really well and it was a pretty nice material.
not true
Maybe it was the fact that GM had just invented the catalytic converter to comply with the upcoming emissions regulations so why spend money doing it a different way that really wasn't any better?
I understand the typical Jalop point of this article...
yeah but...if the Honda solution was so much better why are they the only ones to ever use CVCC?
yeah but did it pass emissions after that?
Typical anti-gm ignorant jalop poster of the day
Like hell there isn’t!
this is much different than optimizing just for the test. The computer actually goes into a separate map when it recognizes the exact conditions of the epa emissions test. Outside of those specific parameters (the fact that the rear wheels are stationary but the fronts are moving) the car runs in dirty mode.
ahhh, ummm. What exactly did you expect a little turbo charged engine to do? Get the fuel economy of a little non-turbo charged engine?
yeah but the thing is others are making diesels that are good performers, affordable and are meeting the standards.
unfortunately that actually makes cars more affordable. It's cheaper to manufacture things like that than to give the option of 100 different combinations of equipment.
holy kaka...around here you can get new Accords for $2000.00 under sticker...not marked up.
yeah, but the Miata doesn't actually sell that many cars..it just happens to be the only one left.
It’s official, I’m calling it.
Actually GM started putting them in cars in 1988. HUD was developed for fighter jets by GM's Hughes division and later got put into cars.
GM was the first to have it..88 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme..then the 89+ Grand Prix
