I'm not saying he should've only spoken about the technology, not at all. Yeah, talking about why Shanghai would be a one-sentence, uninteresting answer.

True, that probably does get old. But that's sort of what happens when you write a film with a sci-fi premise. It'd be simple to take that intro and turn it into "I did! And here's why I felt that was the best way to tell my romance."

Do you remember where you saw that review about corporate enslavement? That sounds really interesting.

It would've also helped if Jonze could've come up with things to say besides "It's about relationships" and acting like having a response to the film beside "It made me emotional" was wrong. Of course he chose the future and made the woman software for reasons. He could've talked about why he made those choices, since

Maybe he'll get invited to supper at Downton Abbey! Supper. Not dinner. Supper is dinner with its shirt undone. Supper is relaxed, it's languid, it's louche. Dinner is a middle-manager from Leicester sucking up to Japanese clients. Supper is an Italian exchange student sunning himself on a lovely June evening in Hyde

I would like to change my answer to that.

Ugh. Spoilers, I guess….

This link is great, and thanks for posting it.

Agreed. I don't think fertility is her only concern here.

"(I think she'd have a hard time finding an OBGYN who would agree with her that she'd better have kidsright away)"

(using the general "you" in this post)

I have seen it and that's not really true.

"Well, Citizen Kane has a pretty major secret twist ending, doesn't it?"

I rewatched the scene just now to make sure. If she agrees for that reason, it doesn't happen onscreen and she never says that's why.

They did, but they didn't have her agreeing because of that. He says that, then says that if she wants a Canadian wedding just say the word, she looks grateful but before she can say anything he makes another Canada joke. It then cuts to her saying that she compromised, but there's no indication it was because of the

The whole gang mocked Robin, but Robin described her decision as a compromise with her fiancé. I'm guessing she wouldn't have changed her mind because her friends were making fun of Canada. She agreed to NY as a "compromise" with Barney.

Yes, but she only didn't have a wedding in Canada because of Barney. If he felt bad about it, he could've agreed to have the wedding in Canada. Instead, he pulled an elaborate prank whose set-up crushed her and caused her to question the wisdom of their marriage for the fiftieth time in a day and a half. Non-psychos

So, to be clear, Robin wanted to have the wedding in Canada in the first place, but Barney mocked her wishes endlessly until she gave in and he got his way (which had the indirect effect of making it so that her mother couldn't come). Barney is the sole reason Robin didn't get her Canadian wedding. So why am I

"Actually, I personally didn't think the reveal saved the scenes where Barney was being at his most insufferable."

Whoopi Goldberg said the rape-rape thing specifically, but there was also this whole thing: http://www.cnn.com/2009/SHO…
It's not in that article, but Debra Winger said the only reason they were after him was because of a "philistine collusion." Because the only reason you could want a rapist to serve his sentence is
