When I played it 3 years ago, the druid and map felt more dynamic then any of the games before it, and it has the possibilitiy of at least gameplay wise to be better then its predecessors, but at same time I doubt they would change what worked for previous games, or the formula as a whole.

At same time, what was Halo

So you mean Dave Chappelle? I too thought his comedy was wildly privileged and detached, but thats just one guy. Are there others?

why do you say netflix supports bigots? Is it Adam Sandler? im legit curious.

Netflix doesn’t even call it anime, why are you?

I will never understand why a Diablo game on phones is a bad thing. Free to play catcha shit sucks but the idea of Diablo on mobile is not a terrible idea imho.

we should stop pushing gambling onto children

I got into DC comics when Cass was Batgirl and Steph came back to life as Spoiler back when I was 15-16 or so...I didn’t know about Barb as Batgirl until I saw the 60's show a years after that.

Plus Cassandra would have also stopped this from purely being Pasty White Hero Simulator 2022.

So you take issue with the fact that Barbara recovered at all? In the comics, she recovered from the injury. In that regard, Gotham Knights is faithful to the comics so it seems odd to target that particular complaint against the game instead of the source material.

Yes, non-lethal bullets are a stupid way to justify putting guns in a game with non-lethal combat. It was particularly dumb in Arkham Knight where your tank somehow had non-lethal miniguns and explosives. Oh, and all the enemy tanks and helicopters you blew up were conveniently unmanned drones.

By far the most troubling revelation came via a bio for Batgirl, published to the game’s website, that suggested she’d recovered from her disability through “raw willpower and determination.”

I forget who said it but one of the witnesses, a mutual friend, said something to the effect of “They both need help.”

I’d like to respond to the idea that your NPC doesn’t get agency in the ending. While the person holding the controller does not; your CHARACTER does. This is a massive difference that is crucial to the message of the game.

I agree with most of your assessment. The only thing - it’s implied that these are not just the Borderlands equivalent of pen and paper characters - they seem to be 'AI' driven and capable of awareness (obviously the Dragon Lord, but suggested again by Izzy after the climax - who is aware that she is a part of a game,

The Dragon Lord is Tina’s Fatemaker.

100% disagree. I don’t know why you got the impression Dragon Lord would break out of the game. His narrative arc is a power struggle against someone with absolute power, and realizing no matter what he’s just a puppet. He desperately wants to get back at Tina for turning him into a villain and can’t even do that.

I agree completely and couldn’t have said it better. The levity combined with the love of the series is a perfect balance. And in fact, the game has expanded my appreciation for some elements of the sequel films (for example, their expanded takes on Kef Bir [Death Star wreckage planet] or Canto Bight), expanding on

Man so negative. I've so far enjoyed a few things from April. Just report the games. No need to be a downer.

I bet all the indie devs who have games that appear on this list feel great about headlines like this.
