I think they are somewhat easy to book since "I don't want to be on national TV" has been said by no politician ever, and during his first week Colbert probably needed to stick to his wheelhouse of interviewing pols and CEO/policy wonks.

I'm only 32—so I guess I am young by some Cure standards. That said, their Beacon Shows few years back were one of the best shows I've seen, ever. I am sure that does not come close to he Disintegration Tour, but long time fans seemed to think it was up to par. One of the few times I felt I hadn't missed out due…
Do all the below, then go see them live.
This album, when I was 16 17….holy shit. Thanks for the memories AV.
@yourtownisnext:disqus I agree that there is an audience for both types of shows. CBS also has a track record of putting on these types of shows whether it is Letterman, Ferguson or even Tom Snyder. When I was a kid, I thought Tom Snyder was just the old guy that came on after Dave—I made fun of him because The…
Reminded me of Dave's discussion with Zevon years back. I was in bed expecting some light humor, a little politicking, but was left thinking about faith, integrity and mortality. What an interview.
Again, I understood that, however the Mentalist bit, in my opinion was more to the point. Even the whole "I don't know you" with Clooney was more to the point and lampooning false comradery. Instead of the hummus, I would have been happy with satirizing having to "give in" to the ridiculous show plugs he would have…
Well, I understood the point completely, but was still hoping it was a bit and not a paid placement. Then came the Oreos, which I thought was great. I was just expecting more than a bit about hummus, but it might have just been a matter of taste (Seriously no pun intended).
Dear Great Job, Internet,
….or if instead of plugging hummus he plugged Big Ass Ham. Would have been a nice nod.
I liked it, but was a bit turned off when I saw some media critics reporting the entire bit "may" have been bought and paid for. But I was happy Colbert did something in real-life imitating Larry Sanders' Garden Weasel bit.
It was a monologue ice breaker. That is how I saw it or heard it rather.
Getting past his cadence during the monologue was a bit tough—with every set up, I expected a CC Colbert joke and got a CBS Colbert joke. Also, another nod to Letterman in the monologue by cleaning his smudgy glasses and he did some movements with his suit. At the desk their was some subtle music cues—i know those…
I agree, but I also don't see why SO is taking up the cause. I've been to Underground Arts, R&R Hotel (not to BB, but been to plenty of venues of similar size in NY.) Each of these venues are small enough that if there are issues in the crowd, the band will certainly be able to take notice. I agree with safe places…
The paradigm of Late Night will be shattered tonight.
Ok. So, total noob question, but all this stuff that went on sale were collector's items never to be re-released again? Also, I didn't get the pun with Dan's Jedi name. What exactly did he do there?
Excited for Colbert, but all the photos I see of the set make it look super bright. I really like the more darker tone that Letterman's set had. I hated the day time TV look of Leno's set. That said, will be interesting to see the desk to the left and not the right, which Letterman said was one thing he wished he…
I woke up wickedly hung over on Sunday and Deathwish was on. Never saw the movie before, but man did it answer a ton of Simpson and Critic references for me.
I also didn't realize how hard it looks and how much space you need to keep to those around you.
For me it was a Hiro Yamagata exhibit at the ACE about 15 yrs ago in NYC. I was still in high school and recently got my license, so my friends and I had unfettered access to the city. We went in and walked through his exhibit of lasers and mirrors. It just was unbelievable fun and enjoyable This is one of the few…
