He's still Ewan McGregor's uncle, though.

I watched this show quite a bit as a kid, and it pretty much scared the crap out of me. Robert Stack still kind of freaks me out.

I also enjoyed how K2SO looked kind of like the Iron Giant. Probably the last time a robot dying made me sad.

I thought, in general, the film depicted the ruthlessness and overwhelming power of the Empire really well. And yes, Vader being the ultimate symbol of that was perfect. He was really, really scary.

True story. Like, do they even know the plans to the first Death Star were stolen? Or did they kill the dude who knew why Jyn was in there? (Wait, they do. Vader mentions the plans to Leia in Star Wars. Never mind.)

I could see the Empire blowing up their base on Scarif and not caring about the destruction of their own property/equipment/clone storm troopers/ambitious middle management types, but blowing up their archives seemed a little drastic and not well thought out.

Yeah, when the shield closes I was thinking "how exactly would they get out?" And yeah……

Just got back. I actually cared about these characters (though the common criticism is we don't.) The thing about this movie (and Force Awakens) did that the prequels didn't was make a world that looked lived in and dirty. The prequels were stiff and sterile. To me, Star Wars is plucky, likeable people in a dusty,

The story could survive without Ragnar. The show can't survive without Fimmel. (Basically.)

It's slightly tiresome the whinging to Ragnar- dudes, you went on a boat. There is likely to be a storm. It's part of boating long distances. It's not all Ragnar's fault.

And yes, not mentioned but mentioned below, Jess and Luke hugging and Jess throwing the hat was great.

Lorelei pestering Luke about April's expenses has nothing to do with either April or money, but rather it goes back to that conversation Emily had with her about her and Luke being "roommates" and not a serious couple. If they were "serious", Lorelei would be helping out with April's expenses. It's become clear that

The writing of this episode was particularly strong. "“Forgive me for all of my faults. All of my failings.” “No regrets. And yet. Every regret.” That's beautiful.

I suspect the thing ASP ignored from Season 7 is Logan breaking away from the family business and the proposal. Logan is even in London, exactly where his dad sent him at the end of Season 6.

Um "keeping Rory on the side in favor of French fiancee Odette reminds us of everything we hated about the character in the first place."

Also, him hugging her hello. Horribly awkwardly.

Yeah, they mentioned a lot of well known publications (including The Atlantic) where her stuff had appeared. The New Yorker thing was just the latest/biggest. Also led to her spec work on that book.

I also think Lorelai being embarrassed and ashamed that her father is embarrassed and ashamed of her behaviour (her naughty behaviour, kind of "slutty" behaviour) fits into a lot of their dynamic in the series. Those feelings being stirred up, when she's lost him, she's tired and a little drunk- makes sense. Also,

And given that Logan breaking away from his family and moving to San Francisco happened in Season 7, it may be that ASP never had Logan do that in her narrative. He's back in London, where his father sent him in Season 6. He's bought in to the whole hardcore Huntzberger life for close to a decade.

that's delightful.
