I loved that Kamala and Hillary were on the same purple wavelength. It’s coincidental, but there is so much symbolism there.

Is there going to be a piece that talks about what’s actually in the COVID plan? Because complaining about the checks and ignoring the eviction/foreclosure moratorium, SNAP benefits, increased UI, and national vaccine program isn’t a good look for people who love to claim they care about the poor and working class.

If you’re making $75,000+ and want to complain about not getting any of that money, I think your ass has at least one foot that would love to meet it.

I’m not going to support that comparison because there’s a whole host of other issues that I don’t want to dump on Stephen.

It’s amazing how you can put AOC’s words right there on the screen and people will still find a way to twist it around.

It can be both.

It’s really weird how he thinks the $1200 check is some sorta gotchya as if any of us are arguing it has anything to do with the $2k.

I don’t want to think that he’s being intentionally dishonest, but I just can’t imagine him being this naïve either.

But in the end you’ll still have the $2000 you wanted. Now you’re asking for $2600 total? Yoda would say: disingenuous that is.

Yeah I called him out on the $1200 and he dodged me too.

It’s a tell about what their priorities are. The last five years have been “We’re just looking out for the common man!”

And the $1200 payment from this summer is irrelevant to the discussion about the latest round of stimulus checks, and how much was promised in them. Bringing the $1200 value into the discussion at all is nothing more than a disingenuous attempt to muddy the waters.

You really want to die on this hill? I mean you purity prophets will be the death of us all.

I don’t see how this is so hard for you. The $2000 was never on top of the $600 it was always to replace it. The conversation was always about the same check, just trying to get a bigger number in the box. That conversation is done and over and they lost. So no they don’t have to deliver any more money now.

Did anyone ever actually say an ADDITIONAL $2k? I always interpreted the $2K as being the sum of the 2nd stimulus, since the most recent stimulus was just 1/2 of round 2 after it got stripped down as much as the GOP could so Biden is coming in to get the rest of the 1/2 the dems were looking for in the first place.

It’s fun to watch people so desperate to drag Joe Biden that they are willing to make themselves look foolish. If anyone is actually interested in what’s in the plan here’s some details:

The only reason anyone is arguing the semantics is because the same people who wrote the original amendment changing $600 to $2000 now want $2600 total because they’re whole damn brand is bitching that Democrats aren’t doing enough.

he didn’t give them what they EXPECTED rather than looking at the reality of the situation.

The timestamp is right there.

Apparently, Biden intended for Americans to count the measly $600 that was passed in December with the $1,400 he’s looking to get approved once in office, and as many math scholars pointed out on Twitter, when you take $1,400 and add that with $600 you get $2,000.
