because it's a nicer story, but she only came to that realization (that sometimes it's better to let a nicer story stand for truth) after she tried to catch the nun on a lie and the nun flipped it right back at her (for lying about not knowing kevin). perhaps that's also how she realized she could perhaps have leaned

nope. she says they did have resources for flying planes, for instance. just not enough pilots to go around. think about it: we have a hell of a lot of infrastructure on earth. if 98% of the population vanished, there'd be sure to have a lot of disruption even if nothing was damaged. and I'm saying this as someone

look for sepinwall's interview with lindelof, they clear up lots of questions about the entire series.

uh… that doesn't– eh, nevermind.

oh yes it was.

it was pachelbel's canon in D, I'm pretty sure.

yeah, it doesn't even matter to me at this point, I'm happy with what we were shown. but I would buy that she decided to live as a recluse. I consider that all the time (even bought a house in a tiny town)… but more importantly, it wasn't just the hotel room argument, clearly. she had a lot on her back. so much grief,

doesn't matter.

book of nora indeed. :) so lovely.

the smile is so similar! it's actually kind of uncanny.

when kevin and nora were dancing and clearly feeling all the feels, the old, crusty, scabby feels all bleeding again and peeling off nicely yet hurting, this fucking show made me feel something again, just a little, perhaps I carried a matchstick or a very small candle right then that bore a little hole through my icy

thanks for this. she is a genius indeed. and thanks for mentioning gena rowlands in "a woman under the influence" (it ranks in my top 3 acting performances ever, I guess now along with coon's nora – the other one is laurie metcalf on horace and pete, although it may be just a little too virtuosic? if that's a thing).

but we've been shown that she lies. the nun caught her lie and even said that thing about the nicer story. I think nora was ready to let some things be nicer, and kevin was ready to just trust her and be glad she was there.

exactly. she wanted to see what she would do.

first thing that came to my mind after nora told kevin her story was: "holy shit, that's exactly how I listen to myself explain anything at all about my own life & decisions – like it's all an epic odyssey".

my point exactly. :) such joy to be able to watch it.

I did think about that before. but that doesn't take away the fact that it was just what nora told kevin, and she does lie. we'll never know if that is what happened. but she was there.

so the end credits rolled to the sound of pachelbel's canon and it didn't feel cheesy. this is skillful.

not all characters can be thickly sketched! :) it can be two things. pino was a bit of a joke, indeed.

hey, no one's ever the only one who felt/did anything, so don't worry!
