I've started reading sepinwall's reviews first then coming here for the comments section. I don't mind joshua's reviews; they're just really not as informative. ah: vulture also published an interview that matt zoller seitz did with lindelof right after this chapter, I think, and it's pretty great.

the guilty remnant were a great creation by perrotta, I think. I've been watching lots of documentaries and reading about cults for a while now, even before I knew this show would feature cults, actually, mostly because I couldn't wrap my head around what would make people so gullible to nonsense. and what struck me

probably because john is about to go rogue on laurie and will try to go after evie, or at least pester kevin about it once he meets him (if they do in fact meet, which I'm assuming they will).

fair enough, to each their own, of course. but I mean… I don't think he *compensated* for the annoying shit. it just paid off in terms of character building and where the series is going.

it all paid off when he said "that's the guy I was telling you about" – probably meaning both "god" and God. plus: christopher eccleston's acting is payoff in itself, wonky accent notwithstanding.

I think people with a fast metabolism would, in fact, tend to be lean and to go to the toilet a lot. or people with IBS.

I think he still looks fantastic.

agreed.

it isn't fair, but hey… since we know the character at this point, it felt heavy-handed, considering that almost every scene that nomi is in ends up being about her. it's a good thing we also know she means well.

this sums up what I feel when watching this show almost the entire time. except for the action scenes. they're awesome.

I cheered with kala with the childfree-positive lines and the "cancer is also natural" one. thanks for putting that on "tv", sense8!

interesting. it would make sense for the next angelica to be will. but I also keep hoping the show gives sun something with a semblance of family, in addition to her sensates. but perhaps birthing a cluster isn't the answer to that, though.

it would be really out of character, I think, to give kala a physical pregnancy. she's smart, a scientist, she knows how to prevent this and I thought it was really cool that they made her not want children. a cluster pregnancy could be interesting, though (but damn, I forgot how that happens – I guess I watch too

I used to really like nomi, now I… I still think she's cool and interesting, but man, she just makes everything about herself! everything we've seen from her sister's pre-wedding preparations and wedding was about her. I know this serves the plot and whatnot but jeez. amanita is a saint.

I think you're spot on. I watch it because it's beautifully filmed, it has amazing action scenes, softcore porn and - yes - it can be cathartic and/or feel-good. but it's really contrived and the dialogue is heavy-handed on the social warrior stuff (and I say this as someone who's behind the activism; I just think it

except in jonestown they ended up having to kill a lot of people (starting with the kids), so it wasn't entirely a mass suicide. it was indeed a massacre.

hah, bingo!

I personally don't love that "I fall in love with the person, not the genitals" thing because most heterosexuals, I'd venture to say, do not fall in love with the genitals either. I've never been able to control my heterosexuality, but just because I only fall in love (romantically) with guys, it doesn't mean I can

there's a bi male character in 'crazy ex-girlfriend' and he is endearing and hilarious.

agree re: paige, even though I also think she's outraged at pastor tim. she's feeling everything at once, it seems, and how would she not?
