I practically stopped using the subway where I lived (biggest city in brazil)… the silver lining was that I took up the bike and that was better for many reasons. you still get harassed on the bike, natch, but at least there's no one rubbing crotch on you.

same.

she was astonishing. her performance beat gena rowlands in a woman under the influence as my all-time favorite.

agreed. I was so impressed with metcalf. I mean, her microexpressions were so on point that I was almost scared at just real it felt. I was mesmerized. I actually cried when horace reacted to her lines about their son, so I guess louis' acting also surprised me in a good way.

I'm from Brazil and I tend to do that too, when I get carried away in comment sections. I get all hyperbolic and whatnot.

sorry, english is not my native language. I meant to say I also read too much into GG stuff on account of having watched each episode at least twice and sometimes as many as 4 or 5 times. so I got the impression that dean was the most suited for her while they were together. they made ir work for a good while because

let's play f**k, marry or kill with dean, jess and logan. everyone will answer kill logan, right? for me it's f**k dean (tall and gorgeous and great voice), marry jess (s06 jess) and kill logan (in the womb maybe – sorry).

I thought a lot about this too in my life. not all at once, but. yeah. I've re-watched GG many times over the course of, say, a decade or more. I think dean was the most compatible of rory's boyfriends insofar as they were all still way too young. but yeah, I think they'd grow up to be more compatible later on.

ugh why does everyone keep saying jess was the most compatible boyfriend? I mean… I love GG to this day (in spite of it not aging as well as I thought it would for me), but while everyone talked about rory being a brainiac and the series kept telling us that she got good grades and all, she came across as not thaaat

yeah, fake was harsh. and yes: it probably does go deeper than that, which is a testament to the quality of this show and of edelstein's acting. good character building.

I agree with Gwen that the "it's my night" thing is very very childish. yet, it's getting harder and harder to watch abby always making everything about her and acting manic on top of it all. it's a good show, so I guess it's supposed to be embarrassing. she's always pretending to be ok, to be on top of things,

totally with you on this. I can't stand her manic "I'm okays" and "I'm on its" and her crazy, fake smile and terrible ability to run in heels. (sorry, the last one is just nitpicky and mean)

this. episode 2 had all kinds of ck-type morsels to feast on. I loved it so much.

so unnecessary, in any case. I thought it was in poor taste. why perpetuate this kind of thing if it didn't serve the script in any way?
[edited for typo]

haha yeah, that's why this show works. it's makes all sorts of silly choices and it's about VERY privileged people, yet… we can project things and empathise with the characters and get hooked. I hope gordon slips again and this time she gives him the boot, it will be very satisfying for all of us (by the way, I don't

…and WTF was that line "I'm puerto rican, I sweat" from jo? geez. I'm pretty sure people of all ethnic backgrounds sweat. just wtf.

I like that abby seems to be getting more "real" moments. makes her more likable. I do think she's a good character and all, but her too-accommodating persona can be a bit grating. anyway, this thing with becca might just be the tipping point for her, I think, as foreshadowed by jean's request that she go deeper with

with you re: gordon. creepy lover/father smarm. and I hate that role so much in real life, especially the fact that it's such and ordinary thing, even when the guy is not really older. ugh.

so much with you on this. it did come across as silly. he wasn't that bad and if everyone had a slightly better reaction, he could ease into getting at least a little bit more comfortable around them.

yes, in a way that just left me a bit stuck. don't know what to say, not much anyway. I liked its looks and some of the framings of scenes, especially at the beginning. buscemi was unsurprisingly very good and it killed me a little.
