Really, the in-game graphics are barely "retro" at all. The characters are blocky, but the lighting is dynamic and everything feels real and solid. It's only the cut-scenes that have the 8-bit feel.

Sorry about that, the original version had a weird transparency issue. Should be fixed now.

I didn't realize this was a sad occasion.

I'm sad I couldn't work this into the Newswire proper, so here, enjoy:

Hey, I like you guys!

They didn't do anything illegal; just paid people (I assume) to let them track their viewing habits, in a way that lets them also pick up Netflix views as well as the usual stuff.

I love this comment so much.

Both written by me, both based on my mom. Guilty as charged.

As the dummy who wrote it: It can be two things.

It's that exciting West Coast lifestyle.

Great piece. Of all the movies I saw last year, Unfriended had the widest gulf between "how incredibly dumb this sounds" and "how great this actually is."

I think that's Zach's identical twin brother Seth.

Walton Goggins' ability to play characters who come into their own after starting off as stereotypical Southern racists (see also: The Shield) is really something.

I think it probably would have made my list if your starting boat went, like, 25 percent faster. I get that I'm supposed to feel lost and alone and melancholy in a big, vast sea. But I just get bored after X number of trips back to London.

(Also, Rocket League is on my-that is, William Hughes'-set of picks up there.)

*an angry Spike Lee mistakenly Tweeds out Gokart Yogurtpork's address*

I'm apparently immune to Del Toro's charm; he never rated above "sleepy" for me, even when things got supposedly tense.

I was on the fence between Unfriended and The End Of The Tour, which is a weird sentence, given how different they are. I loved End Of The Tour, but I ultimately had to go with the one that was more interesting from a form point of view.

I'm hoping we'll do an autumn version of this next year, because nothing evokes that feeling for me like "Yearnings Of Wind"

Hey, me too! The opening (and ending) of the third season premiere, "Numb," had a pretty profound effect on me, kicking off my love of the band.
