I think what Satan is trying to point out is that Elon Musk, and the companies he run, are known liars. So you want everyone to believe them in one place, when they have been caught blatantly lying in another. We’re to extend them the benefit of the doubt here because.... Why?
If you want to keep believing liars…

I know you’re Jalopnik’s #1 Tesla stan but even you have to admit the company isn’t exactly trustworthy. Especially considering how they lied about recordings remaining anonymous.
Tbh, most of the women he knows probably don’t (admit that they) really care about abortion access.
I think it’s along the same logic lines as the Texas congressman who stated that women don’t really care about abortion access.
2d Gear: I haven’t the faintest idea what he’s trying to say. Is it that “We have to keep prices high on ICE vehicles so that we can make enough money to shift to EVs?” Or is he saying that we must reject the evidence of our eyes and ears because, really, high prices are good for the midle class?
There’s a well-sourced news-report. That’s enough to file a case. At that point, discovery comes in - they’ll interview some of the sources for the Reuters story, convince a bunch of people to sign on, take it into court to get it certified. At that point, unless the court decides it’s just too flimsy, they can do…
God damn you, inexorable progression of linear time! This steady ageing thing has gotta stop.

That depends. In this instance, the parents were acting in a way that could have resulted in catastrophic harm occurring to the baby, as the jaundice was not mild, but was severe enough that the result could have been brain damage, which is why the doctor contacted CPS, when the parents refused to acknowledge the risk…
I’ve seen the news in Dallas reporting that the child’s bilirubin level (the stuff that causes jaundice) was 21! Which was high enough to cause brain damage. The doctor told the family to urgently go to the hospital. The family declined and follows advice of the midwife. Im a black pediatrician myself. I would also…
All the warning signs in the world and people STILL decide to live in Texas.
Strange world.
This family had the same pediatrician for 10 years and it was the pediatrician who triggered the CPS process, not just some random doc that the family never knew before.
My thought exactly. Midwives are there to assist with birthing, NOT to provide longterm medical advice or care. A noble profession for sure, but definitely not a pediatrician.
I’m not saying that any of this is justified. If the child was so sick, she needs to be in the hospital. But she’s not... so?
But the person who attended the birth has a doctorate and is a licensed counselor. She is a certified professional midwife (CPM) which means she is *not* a medical professional who was trained…
It sounds like diaper rash. But it’s still not ok.
They will often euthanize animals who took part in the mauling/killing of or handling the body of a dead person. Authorities seem to belive that once an animal interacts with a human in this manner, they can get used to it. That is the concept in laymans terms since I am not farmiliar with the exact terminalogy.
