@unknownsock: The drives use Sandforce 1200 controllers which support the "trim command" passed to it by the OS, as well as garbage collection done internally by the drive's firmware, independant of the OS.

For those wondering, these are not PCIe drives, they are SATA - a new connector called mSATA, but SATA nonetheless.

@unknownsock: I believe OSX doesn't have trim support. They've been relying on drives themselves doing their own "garbage collection", in the firmware, outside the OS.

@Matthew Weflen: I'm not sure the black level loss issue is present in the 2010 series Panny's, but I'll cede that issue to you. I've researched that issue very carefully and I'd still buy Panny over Samsung LCD (and I did).
