Counterpoint - fuck you guys for not helping me out when my boss promoted me effective June 1st (this was like 2012) and told me my pay would be increased then and then you guys said during AMCP (which ran June through August!!) promotions can’t be processed. That cost me like $7,500 in wages I would have been paid.

I worked as a senior software engineer for Ohio State and got paid just north of $100k (non-management position). My salary was still below market compared to the private sector.

Yeah my wife worked at Harvard as a secretary then department coordinator, she made around $40,000 starting out with great benefits and good wage increases every year. Harvard has a killer union, but these dining workers I’m assuming are definitely not employed by Harvard.
