It speaks volumes that they had Davis and no one wanted to play for their shit franchise for over half a decade. Even Cousins bounced rather than get paid.

I’m saying picks are currently overvalued, not that they have no value. It’s also very dependent on the team. If you are going to simply pick and develop a rotational player, why not just TRADE for a semi or already developed rotational player. Now might be better for your fans and team than three years from now.
He was not solid in LA. He was a poorly-coached turnover machine who hadn’t found his stroke or stride yet. He was trade bait by the end of his rookie year.
I’ve been going down this path that picks are overvalued in the NBA. Of the last four drafts, all the top players of those drafts have come out with 1 or 2 big flaws and needing at least 3 years of development before being decent or effective.
You didn’t even mention the stadium scams and how multiple cities are pretty much consigned to pay city employees in bread and water for the next half century in order to appease some trust fund shithead.
Why are they called the Suns? I get that any star can be a sun and there are multiple suns in the universe, but quite frankly, only one really matters to people on Earth.
It’s crazy to me. The phone calls just don’t MATCH where Adnan was at the time of the calls. He says he was with friends; then there’s the BestBuy phone box that’s no longer there. And what about the parking lot across the street! Now the legal system is getting over-involved. Like I don’t even personally know any of…
How sporting of you. ;)
Living in the Bay Area, I feel equal amounts thrilled and disassociation seeing Ray Ratto on Deadspin.
This might be one of the worst starts to Black History Month on record.
Do Batman Beyond, use some of Nighthawk/Bouie’s ideas, and make McGinnis black. Hell, even the whole angle of only Terry’s father being killed by Joker worshippers (a decent stand-in for your alt-right dudes) works well as a story examing race.
If Durant had gone to NY, a frontcourt tandom of him and Porzingas would have been unstoppable and defensively sound. Who wants to charge passed Durant knowing the Zinger is there and vice-versa.
At least they kept Phil’s philosophy of matching players with the system. Here’s to acquiring players perfect for those 90s Knicks teams.
No. The NBA is perfect. Quit browbeating.
I bet Lonzo isn’t moving. I feel like the Peli’s would be more amped on a trade for Davis with Zubak, Ingram, Kuzma, a 2021 pick, and any other flotsam to make it work.
Way to woo those new superstars, Pelicans! I’m sure passively agressively embarrassing Davis, who has been pretty patient and mum during your many rebuilds, will have no long-term consequrnces for luring great players to your franchise!
Wait, wait, wait. This is one of those brain tteasers right. Kind of line if I always lie on Monday, Thursday, and Friday, and never lie on Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday or Sunday, and I say “yesterday was Tuesday,” then What day is it?
One of my favorite 80s song lyrics is “Li’s, Lii’s, Liii’s, yeah!”
Consider the idea that many in the television press are incredibly stupid and/or vapid as well.
Buss is right. A coaching change now makes zero sense, as it won’t get them any closer to a title this year. Season’s end or early next season is the time to determine if Walton should stick around.
