Another reason not to run any anti-virus. Seriously... I can't remember the last time my AV successfully warned me about a file that was a virus.

This should teach the "friend" to back up their important files. What if that malware had deleted all .doc, .xls, .mp3, .jpg, etc files? I had a friend call up crying thinking she had lost off of their photos. Luckily, she hadn't.
I use XP in VMWare. My work's applications are usually 1 or 2 OS releases behind — meaning they are incompatible with Vista/7 so I can't run them without virtualization or dual-booting.
