Much as I love the premise (and adult animation more broadly) I really wish they’d put some more effort into the animation side of things. At least shows like Lazor Wulf really doubled down on the look of their world.

Maybe it’s like the perception filter in Doctor Who; not so much invisible as unremarkable, and therefore unnoticed.

If the last few years have proven anything, it’s that we’re not willing to let something as minor as a complete absence of merit stop us from supporting a person or idea. That said, I wouldn’t wish COVID on anyone, and hope Dave Chappelle doesn’t suffer unduly from it.

Because this is definitely an option for every Russian regardless of personal circumstances and attachment to a place they’ve lived in their entire lives.

But didn’t Riz Ahmed’s character come to the rebellion pretty late in the game (relatively speaking)? It wouldn’t make sense for Bohdi Rook to appear in a Cassian Andor series considering he was only really a rebel when Rogue One started.

Comments like these assume that expressing shitty views is some kind of own goal, but let’s be honest; JKR’s transphobia hasn’t materially inconvenienced her (or similar people) to any great degree. A significant number of people either agree with her transphobic ideas, or love Harry Potter so much that they’re

Rowling’s comments are transphobic because they perpetuate a lot of dangerous old nonsense about trans people that’s been pretty conclusively debunked at this point, and there’s plenty of resources out there that illustrate that in detail (like this one, for example). But the problem isn’t just that she’s saying

This. Terry Pratchett’s prose is so witty and distinctive that adapting it to another medium is inherently fraught. I don’t think it’s impossible, but it needs someone with enough ideas that are as good as Pratchett’s to be worth doing at all.

To be fair, it’s not like a mythical figure that can enter our houses at will and knows everything we’re doing is something that bears any real scrutiny.

Perhaps there’s text chat like the iOS version, using an on-screen keyboard?

The problem with that list is these kinds of games are widely available on existing consoles already, and have been for ages. If you’re depending on SNK’s existing slate of franchises, there’s no real reason for a dedicated SNK console to exist anymore.

It’s kind of simplistic to argue that religious nutjobs care about sex trafficking and other issues. They do, but only as a means to an end—to promote the ideas they know don’t really wash with us anymore. But this isn’t really a new problem, or even one that’s unique to the religious.

Now playing

I was always a fan of Winterville from Ape Escape 3. Lovely atmosphere and a great soundtrack to go with it.

As a Brit, this is unfortunately true.

Except if the game never gets a physical release that means ignoring massive swathes of a console’s library. It’s a nice slogan, but not one that holds up to any kind of scrutiny.

I appreciate your perspective, but personally I wouldn’t be too quick to dismiss your own viewpoint; just because you’re bi and in a hetero relationship, it doesn’t make you less queer than me. It still counts. Your perspective is still valid as a bi person, given bi people have their own stereotypes to contend with.

Yes, I can see how that throws the motivation into question; like, are you doing this for the clout, or because you want to portray an oppressed people’s struggles sensitively? Ultimately I feel we have to judge it on the quality of the performance rather than the perceived intentions behind it, but it’s still a

In a way, it’s a shame that the sheer frankness of its approach to the subject matter also pushes it out of reach from the people (i.e. children/teens) who could benefit from it the most.

One recent discussion I read (as a gay dude) argues that being gay isn’t necessary to play gay for a couple of reasons. There’s nothing physical about the role that prevents straight people from playing it (as opposed to, say, a white person playing a black character) and insisting on a certain sexuality demands an
