Apparently there’s two videos attached to Gone with the Wind now on HBO Max, one of which is literally an hour long, that places the movie in a better context. No idea how many people will actually watch them, but I guess you can’t accuse HBO Max of failing in their due diligence.

Ugh. On one hand I can understand why they’d take this decision as Chang dressing up like... that was not good. On the other hand, blackface aside, it’s one of the best episodes Community ever did and they made its wrongness pretty clear from the start. But if I were black, I’d probably have a (legimitately) hostile

I’ve added some photos in my response to Zack if you’re so inclined...

Ask and ye shall receive:

I’m working on a project for my Lego Ninja Turtles stuff; I’ve built a new lair from scratch, and now I’m building the dock area that attaches to it for the sub. I’m also modifying the Shellraiser set they released several years ago; it’s a fun set, but there’s a lot of little problems that compromise it.

Yeah, but according to the reviews some of the music and cutscenes are missing, along with a few other things. So this is still possibly a better option.

I think any obsession comes from the fact Disney has flat out refused to rerelease it in any form, rather than it being some forgotten gem in Disney’s film history. To make something desirable, simply make it difficult to attain.

The problem isn’t even that it’s raunchy, really; it’s that it quickly gets boring. It only takes a few games before the same answers start cropping up again and again, and any subversion or shock value the game has quickly evaporates. Which, for a game like Cards against Humanity, really limits its value.

Dammit, don’t play with my emotions like that.

Avatar is a triumph of serendipity rather than great filmmaking, I think, which the massive amount of money it made reflects. But it goes to show that commercial success is no guarantee of quality, innovation or anything beyond great marketing efforts.

It’s a lovely idea, but the yellow hands really stick out. If they’d painted the head yellow I think it’d look a lot better...though I suppose that’s an easy fix were I to buy it.

It’s not unreasonable to have second thoughts about spending almost £300 on something you can’t trust to work properly. And before you say “but you can have it fixed for free!” this is not a good argument. Have it working properly out the gate, especially if there’s a good chance it’ll break again in the future.

There’s an episode of King of the Hill with a “Hallelujah House” that operates on the same basic principle. I’m not surprised something similar exists in real life.

Well, according to Vox the Impossible Burger uses genetically modified soy grown in the US, as opposed to GMO-free soy from Brazil. The former has a smaller footprint than the latter, though of course this doesn’t solve the other issues we might have with the finished product.

I feel it’s worth highlighting that most Game Boy hardware is pretty crappy by today’s standards, especially when it comes to backlighting. Plus, the two aren’t exactly the same; being able to play Game Boy games on TV is a major selling point, especially since getting a Game Boy Player is a pain in the neck

I realise making fun of video game logic (or lack thereof) is pretty low-hanging fruit, but I do enjoy Awkward Zombie very much. I also appreciate how she makes fun of games off the beaten track, like re:coded and Hotel Dusk, from time to time.

I hadn’t considered this new game from this perspective! It made for a really interesting read.

It reminds me a bit of The Unfinished Swan. I’d love to visit it.

On one hand this looks hilariously contrived and uncomfortable to use. On the other, Wii Fit is literally one of the best-selling games ever, so who am I to judge?
