I feel it’s worth highlighting that most Game Boy hardware is pretty crappy by today’s standards, especially when it comes to backlighting. Plus, the two aren’t exactly the same; being able to play Game Boy games on TV is a major selling point, especially since getting a Game Boy Player is a pain in the neck

I realise making fun of video game logic (or lack thereof) is pretty low-hanging fruit, but I do enjoy Awkward Zombie very much. I also appreciate how she makes fun of games off the beaten track, like re:coded and Hotel Dusk, from time to time.

I hadn’t considered this new game from this perspective! It made for a really interesting read.

It reminds me a bit of The Unfinished Swan. I’d love to visit it.

On one hand this looks hilariously contrived and uncomfortable to use. On the other, Wii Fit is literally one of the best-selling games ever, so who am I to judge?

I’m okay with this. Endings are the only way stories have any real value at all, and 94 episodes is a damn fine achievement for any TV programme, least of all a Netflix exclusive.

I appreciate they’re trying to put more of a Sonic spin on things beyond mere aesthetics, but it doesn’t obscure the fact that Monopoly is terrible in any guise.

The GBA has some nice software, but the hardware surrounding it is a bit more variable. I bit the bullet on a Game Boy Player a while back, and I’d struggle to go back to anything else long-term. The DS Lite is a lovely way to play GBA on the go, however.

I for one am happy to see loot boxes go the way of the dodo. I admit they’re alluring in games like Overwatch, but they also fundamentally change your relationship with the game in the process. You’re playing for the next hit of pointless crap rather than enjoying the game on its own terms, and we won’t lose anything
