I don’t think the key problem with the Robocop and Total Recall remakes was the PG-13 rating.  I think the problem with them was that they sucked.

Whatever concerns you have about how much pay artists are getting through Netflix airing their shows or movies, it has to be better than piracy.  Because you know exactly how much money artists are getting from piracy -- zero.

I agree with you. If you went back 20 years, people would be astonished by how much free movie and television content is available to them, at the push of a button, whenever they want. The idea that we’re living in some kind of dark age of content because Netflix isn’t as cheap as it used to be is absurd.

I could see an argument for the virtue of letting people stream shows that had been removed from legal streaming platforms and were otherwise unavailable (not for sale on DVD, OnDemand, etc.) But it’s obvious Jetflicks wasn’t just doing that, since the most desirable shows to pirate are the the ones lots of people…

I’m still really torn up about how Jack Nicholson had to die in 1980. I mean, The Shining is a great movie, and I get for narrative reasons why it made sense for Jack Torrence to die.  But I think Nicholson had a lot of great roles ahead of him.
