The part that’s “involuntary” is the homicide, not the underlying wrongful act that resulted in the death.

Fair, but Baldwin wasn’t the armorer. They don’t appear to be holding him liable as a producer of the film who (at least nominally) supervised the armorer, since if that were the case, it wouldn’t matter if he pulled the trigger or not.  So the theory seems to be that, in his role as an actor in the movie, he was

I don’t think anyone is engaging in some kind of plot to “put two black women together.” Henson complained about some of the conditions on set, and Oprah was one of the producers.

“Palestinian authorities” or “Gaza Health Officials” are both accurate description of who the source is. Noting that the health officials work for a government led by Hamas is also accurate, which is why it’s perfectly legitimate when the AP notes that as well. I’m not wedded to any particular description being used

If you think Barrera did not use the term “concentration camp” specifically because that term has special sting for Jews, I have a bridge to sell you.

I’m pretty sure what she was implying.

It’s worth noting that Barrera also reportedly said, “Gaza is currently being treated like a concentration camp.” I think it’s understandable why even Israelis and Jews who might be critical of Israel’s conduct in Gaza would find that comparison offensive. Nazi analogies are problematic in any circumstance, and I

I don’t think it took any courage to write, direct, or produce a Barbie movie, anymore than it took courage to write, direct, or produce Transformers.

That wouldn’t be innovative. Lots of sites already collect movies featuring mother fuckers.

Exactly. I don’t want one monopolistic streamer, but it’s also unsustainable to have our entertainment siloed into a ton of different streaming services, some of which I suspect basically no one is watching.

My barbershop is also a for-profit company doing business because it wants to make money. When my barber picks up the mirror after cutting my hair, I tend to just say my hair looks good, without falling into a pissy little lecture about capitalism.

Jesus Christ, how miserable must Barsanti be to approach all his articles in such a butthurt way?!?!

Diaz was not there to be liked, and was not there for anybody’s approval.

For Che Diaz to be divisive, wouldn’t someone have to like the character?

Yeah, I agree with you. And even when you say “tricked,” I think you have to qualify that a bit. Stone appeared in a scene where she was not wearing underwear, where the camera was pointed at her at about waist level, and where the implication of the scene was that the police characters could see her vagina.  She

I certainly agree with you that stories are important. My disagreement is with the words “courage and endurance” specifically.

In 2014, you could have seen Breaking Bad, Mad Men, season 1 of True Detective, season 1 of Fargo, Hannibal, Community, 30 Rock, Parks and Rec, Game of Thrones, Veep, The Americans, and The Leftovers. So you had a steady diet of shows that ranged in quality from Great to Maybe the Best Ever.

I think it’s also telling that the AV Club, in trying to establish Stone as a huge star, mentioned the two Sharon Stone movies everyone thinks of, and then was left to try to convince us that The Quick and the Dead was an iconic smash hit.

I like America Ferrara, and liked Barbie. I still don’t think it took particular courage and endurance for America Ferrara to act in Barbie.

I don’t think it’s “knocking” her to note that her career has not experienced a renaissance. I can both be glad that Lohan is recovering from a difficult past and want the stuff said about her to have some basis in reality.
