THAT WAS EMILIA CLARKE?

I’ll be honest, i really don’t want the mutants in the MCU. It really feels incongruous as a concept with the world we see.

I mean technically they’re nebulously canon. Yes, the shows themselves are out of the canon but that does not mean they won’t pull a Daredevil and pluck the odd duck from prior Marvel shows.

I always assumed there were White, Red, and Brown Widows as well. There’s 30 some odd species of widow spider out there in Black, Red, Brown, and White varieties.

Been on io9 since about the same time. I am also curious about any replacements. This is the last time io9 does something like this. It happens every few years and just gets progressively worse and worse. They don’t even give the slightest hint of a shit to their userbase.

First time in a LONG time supercasting has excited me. Perfect.

Oh, absolutely fair, I’m just saying EXPLAINING absense in ANY narrative is as easy as addressing motive, circumstances, etc. Swapping in explanations feels pretty simple to me, but if the explanation itself doesn’t hit, that’s another story altogether and I want to make that distinction clear. No judgments on your

I'll be honest, the way she talks about it so casually was it's own special kind of horrifying to me. Like she's scarred over the trauma.

I can oretty much guarantee most of the characters they use going forward will get their power or abilities or suits or whatever in the present tense or in the 5 year Snap Gap. There will be exceptions, like this, but i don't know what makes anyone think it would be hard to believably explain their absence.

Fuck if you ain’t wrong.  Black Sails was a gift.

I mean that was probably a better way to make my point in regards the network/budget issue (the rest of my post was connectes but not pertinent to the point as such), because it’s basically what i meant- there is zero reason these shows had to stay on the CW. All of this, and i mean ALL of it, could have transitioned

Let’s also be frank: a lot of the “budget issues” of TV just aren’t that anymore. Yes, CW is limited scope, but if WBDC WANTED to, there’s no reason they couldn’t put the money into it to do the characters right, which you’d think they would want to do.

Oh, speaking as a pro wrestling fan, wrestlers are notorious for the tactics they use in contract renegs (they aren’t considered employees, just contractors) and Batista specifically was always really good at playing the promotions off (even if it usually led to them dropping the ball eventually).

...and who was Ronan doing it under the orders of in the MCU?

There was no reason Rocket and Drax couldn't have survived together. I know it was supposed to be the "perfectly balanced" with half the characters in each battle biting it but it really felt like, at least as someone who cares about the lore of the characters in my enjoyment of the films, that this was a Marvel Gotta

That’s...really fucking cool and now I have an idea for a story where—

I hadn’t even considered that they had him optioned out for future appearances so he wouldn’t necessarily have news about him going to set or anything. Gratitude. I hope he IS in it, and some sort of major antagonist as well. Not necessarily fully evil or mustache twirling “bad guy” because they hinted at a Mordo with

Indeed, like they didn’t even bother to give it context. Either the abject meanness or their getting closer by the end of the movie.

Only if they use it as an opportunity to make their relationship less...yikes. I know a lot of people find them funny but i mostly hated them in GOTG2.

Someone just explained this really well to me:
