If an engine is diesel, then yes, it can seal off the engine. But it does not seal the differentials, you need extra tubing for that.

Weight, complexity, cost. What’s the benefit of a diesel-electric hybrid? It will still take the same amount of time to drive that 700-800 miles a trucker does in a day. Fuel savings would add about 0.25% to the bottom line, but the added cost of the machine will subtract 5% from the bottom line.
Wouldn’t they need to beef up the drivetrain to handle that? Or is the GC beefy enough to take anything physics allows for?
Pretty easy to have strict principles after you’re financially independent.
