More Bloodborne. It's been a couple weeks since I posted here, but I haven't made a ton of progress. I think last time I posted I had just beaten Vicar Amelia. After that, I cleared out Hemwick Charnel Lane. That area wasn't too tough, and it's actually become my loop that I run when I want to farm for echoes and

Ah ok. I have ventured just a little bit into that area. It looked super different, though, and I was afraid it would be an entirely different area than the Cathedral Ward. I've got this weird fear of missing anything in games so I feel like I have to explore every possible nook and cranny of one area before moving to

I haven't, actually. Besides finding the entrance to Old Yharnam, the Vicar Amelia fight is really the only "major" thing I've done in the Cathedral Ward so far. Otherwise I've just been kind of exploring different paths and testing the waters.

I hear that about not having the time. I'm playing Bloodborne and it's probably going to take me months to finish. It's frustrating but it does save on money, at least!

More Bloodborne! My progress is really slow still. While exploring the Cathedral Ward, I ran across Vicar Amelia. That was a fun fight! The first couple times she just destroyed me. Then I finally got the timing down on her attacks enough to get her to the point where she started healing herself. That threw me off and

Bloodborne still. Haven't made a ton of progress this week. I believe last week I had just beaten Father Gascoigne but hadn't ventured into the Cathedral Ward yet. This week I put out some feelers in various directions. Boy does the Cathedral Ward really open up compared to Central Yharnam! I found the entrance to Old

I didn't even know they were releasing story DLC. Arg. I really want to play it! I might break down and just buy it for the Wii U, since it would probably be irresponsible to buy a Switch at this point. Darn being old enough to have bills and financial responsibilities but not old enough to feel financially stable

I used to always say LttP was my number one, but after replaying the HD port of Wind Waker last summer and now (finally) playing LA, I'm not sure I could pick one out of those three!

It'll be a while before I have the money to get BotW, but I do love the idea of amazing, classic Zelda games (LttP, OoT, possibly BotW) with weirder but equally wonderful follow ups (LA, MM, hopefully the next Zelda game).

Well, now I know what I'll be listening to while I work today!

You and @DrFlimFlam:disqus may have convinced me to start with Tales from the Borderlands! I have no doubts they're all great, but something goofy and eccentric would probably be good to offset the darkness and bleakness of Bloodborne.

Ha! That's actually not too surprising now that I think about it, but absolutely hilarious. Thanks for putting a smile on my face with that!

I beat Link's Awakening and oh boy was it incredible. It honestly had one of the best stories and most likable characters of any Zelda I've played, which is remarkable for a GameBoy title. It's definitely a top-three Zelda for me now, with Wind Waker and A Link to the Past. I was really blown away. If I had a

Are the Ogres the big dudes with the bricks? If so there are a couple really close to the Central Yarnham lantern and I've noticed they pretty much always leave at least one blood vial, and they're the only enemy in the game so far that I can successfully parry pretty much every time haha.

It's funny you say that… last night I finally discovered the descriptions of all the items, so I spent a while reading through all of them. This was shortly before my last try at Gascoigne for the night. I saw his name in the music box and just thought, "Oh, so he's the father of that child at the window!" and just

So two weeks ago I posted that I'd be finishing up Link's Awakening soon. Still haven't finished it. In fact, I've only made about an hour's worth of progress, unfortunately. I got started reading The Dead Zone and couldn't really put it down to do anything else with my free time! Finished that on Tuesday, though, so

Still plugging away at Link's Awakening. I sound like a broken record saying every week that I don't have a ton of time to devote to video games, but it's still true. I also just finished rereading Lord of the Rings a couple nights ago, and that's taken up a lot of my entertainment time. I'll probably have LA finished

I had the same reaction!

I'm definitely a lore-hound when it comes to fantasy worlds, so I'd probably enjoy the earlier games for that reason alone, but if the gamplay hasn't aged well I may eventually play them just once for the lore and stick with D3 for gameplay.

If I'm thinking of the same gameplay element you're referring to (luring zombies to attack human enemies), I agree completely and I'm really hoping to see it in The Last of Us 2.
