Yeah, I've heard the story aspect of MGSV is pretty disappointing. I'm still excited, but definitely have lowered expectations.

Already picked up the HD version of Beyond Good and Evil. I've really been itching to play that one again, so I'm very excited! I haven't played it in probably at least 10 years.

To be honest I loved the ending of MGS4. I totally get why people didn't like it, and it's definitely overdramatic and throws a lot at you at once after the game is actually over. But for whatever reason, it didn't bother me in this case. I guess I can be a sucker for cheese and melodramatic happy endings. My burnout

Probably going to finish up my NG+ playthough of Oxenfree. I'm about halfway through, and so far the changes haven't felt super significant, but I love this game enough that I'm enjoying going through it again anyway. The dialogue and characters are so well-written. Maybe not realistic, as I'm sure most teenagers

Haven't heard the Panic at the Disco cover so I have no opinion on that, but you're wrong about Bohemian Rhapsody being covered: https://www.youtube.com/wat…

Wow, one game I love (The Last of Us Remastered), one game I bought on sale and have been excited to try (Sleeping Dogs), and one game I've been very interested in trying and you've probably convinced me to get someday (Valiant Hearts). Great selection and great writeup!

Finishing up Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando. Still loving this game but haven't had a ton of time to play lately. I am down to the last 3 planets though, so I'm getting close! My only complaint is the space levels. Some of the missions are fun, but some just feel extremely tedious. But, being a completionist when it

I don't live in KC, but I was on a trip there this weekend and rode that slide two days before the death. I (stupidly) posted about riding the slide that day, so after the death, I had tons of people commenting asking how I felt. Which seems dumb because hundreds of people ride that every day and are fine. The kid's

He's the only standup comedian I've ever seen live (we don't get too much in my area), and it was an incredible experience. He's absolutely hilarious and so talented. Highly recommended!

I've really been digging The New Primitive by Asphalt Graves. Really good grindcore. The new Ghoul is pretty great as well. For as gimmicky as that band can be, I've really loved their stuff ever since I saw them open for GWAR few years ago.

Pestilence - "Out of the Body"
Neutral Milk Hotel - "King of Carrot Flowers, pt. 1"
Titus Andronicus - "Titus Andronicus Forever"
Gorguts - "Faceless Ones"
Dolly Parton - "Jolene"
Wye Oak - "Sick Talk"
Ennio Morricone - "The Rope Bridge"
Now, Now - "Neighbors"
Willie Nelson - "Whiskey River (Live)"
Sleep - "The Druid"

I can definitely see where you're coming from in regards to its relationship with MGS2 (which I also loved). But like I said, the emotional beats just clicked with me more than any of the other games yet, and as far as story goes, that's what's most important to me personally.

It really is pretty incredible just how damn fun these games are. I've always had a tough time choosing between GC and UYA, but I'm having such a blast going through GC again.

Agreed on the Arkham games. I really loved that aspect of it. Although I wonder how well it would work in a game like Splinter Cell or Metal Gear Solid where your movement is far more limited than Batman's. And also in the Arkham games, the rooms where enemies actually did notice (or alerted by Joker) were essentially

If I have time, I'll be playing Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando. It's been a long time since I've played these games and I forgot how fun they are. It's great revisiting this one. I really needed something light and joyful and fun after Metal Gear Solid 4, and R&C is fitting the bill nicely.

How is World Tour? I generally love Mario Sports games, but the only golf game I've played is Advance Tour, which I really enjoyed.

Finishing Metal Gear Solid 4. I've only got act 5 to go, which I've heard is pretty short, gameplay-wise, but that the final cutscene is a marathon. It killed me to put away the game and go to bed after finishing act 4 the other night, so I'm super excited to see how this all wraps up.

It looks like this Bruce actually has personality outside of being Batman, so I'm hopeful about that.

Man, props to you for beating Furi in one sitting on your first go! I'm definitely not the most accomplished gamer, but the first boss alone took me at least 30 minutes haha. I've tried the second boss at least 5 different times and haven't won yet. This is gonna be a "long haul" game for me.

I thought Rafe was excellent as well. The way he looked and acted reminded me a ton of Jake Gyllenhaal (a quick google search shows that I'm not alone in this), who would be a perfect choice to play a spoiled, out-to-prove-himself, nervy, insane rich kid.
