You're Next is so incredibly good. Easily my favorite horror film since the millenium, and definitely on my all-time horror film list as well. I really need to check out The Guest!

That's actually good to know. I know so little about computers!

I do have a Steam account, but I only own a really old laptop where even Minecraft has pretty bad slowdown.

I love all of those things you mentioned and have long wanted to play that game. But I own nothing that will play it, unfortunately.

Good to hear about the "Future" series. They're all pretty reasonably priced now and with the huge backlog of games I've got, it will probably be a while until I get to them anyway, but more R&C is always good as far as I'm concerned.

Glad to hear you're enjoying Uncharted. The first game gets somewhat of a bad rap because the second game improves so much, but the first is still a really fun game with great characters.

I'm really hoping to get to Xenoblade Chronicles someday. I have such a huge gaming backlog that I'm not sure it's going to work out, but the story just sounds so good from everything I've heard.

Hopefully finishing up the original Ratchet & Clank this weekend. What a fun game. I haven't played this game in years, despite replaying 2 and 3 fairly frequently. I'm hoping to eventually play the "Future" series, as I have never played those, and, of course, the remake/re-imagining.

That's actually good to know. I'm ok with losing characters as a result of story choices I've made, but I'd probably get frustrated losing them just because strategic games aren't my strong suit.

I really want to play the first one, as the art style looks incredible and the story sounds really, really good. But I've never played a tactical or strategic RPG and I'm pretty worried I would suck at it. I don't have the most strategic mind.

I've never played a Souls game, so I can't compare, but let me join my voice with the chorus of people all over the internet praising The Last of Us. It's so well written and the gameplay complements the story and setting perfectly. I just played it a few months ago and I'm itching to replay it again, even though I

I'll be continuing through Metal Gear Solid. I'm loving the story, the characters, and the stealth gameplay, but I'm absolutely terrible at anything involving combat. The only boss battle I've beaten on the first try is Psycho Mantis, and that's only because years of reading about video games made me aware that I had

Not to sound like an angry fan coming to the defense of a band who doesn't care, but Billy, the guy with the mustache, is more "weird drunk uncle" than hipster. In the past he's had a mullet, he's a huge advocate of Hamm's beer over craft stuff, and regularly gets naked and runs around when drunk. I'm not saying the

Sounds like good advice to me! I'll start with the NES version to get the "authentic" experience (although I'll use the Wii U's save states, so I guess it's not that authentic), and if I feel like coming back to it at some point, I'll pick up the GBA version.

Any advice on whether to get the NES or GBA version of SMB3 for the Wii U VC? Generally I lean toward the original, but I didn't know if there's a real benefit to the GBA port? And Symphony of the Night is the only Castlevania game I've played, but I've been interested in trying out some of the more linear ones, as

I've bought that game on 3 different consoles now haha. Wii is probably my favorite. Glad you're enjoying it!

Wow, awesome writeup! I actually played Super Metroid just about a year ago, and have been thinking about playing it again. I'd easily consider it one of my favorite games ever. Wii U VC is a beautiful thing! And I believe those other games you mentioned are on the VC as well, so I'll have to check them out, probably

I'm really hoping the PS4 version of Oxenfree comes out sooner rather than later. It looks right up my alley in terms of art style, atmosphere, story, etc.
