No shit. Spike Lee isn’t a white male director, he’s a black male director, one who most certainly went through (and probably still goes through) a lot to get a movie made. I agree there should be many more women led films made, but it’s presumptuous to discount his film just because he’s a guy.

I really wanted to comment on how bad of a take OP was setting themself up to make. But, she didn’t go full Becky, and I really just don’t feel like getting into it with that section of the Jez commentariat right now.

WTF? I was looking forward to this one and you ruined it. Seriously, as a mother of 18-month old twins, I get to see 1 movie a year in the theatre and now I have to pick another one.
