"It's not a big deal."

It kinda looks like a simplified DS icon, actually.

@mcdonnr: Valid point, however the longer you wait, the worse it'll get. I imagine some people will forever be stuck in 2001 mode until they die if you let them.

2020.. XP will only be 19 years old by then, completely unsupported by hardware/software companies, and my Apple neural implant (with 3D HUD and ability to order Starbucks on the fly based on my location) will be faster and better.

Ouch for Apple.

I'm not sure how Evernote is bloated..

@knightwing19: Trouble is, there are not only trolls on forums, not everybody who's a decent participant wants to display his/her real name; with this flawed method, we'd have a lot fewer trolls and a lot fewer decent posters as well.

@Xeo: That's exactly what I have in mind; you want to enforce accountability? Inflict stronger punishments, 3-day suspensions (only from the forums) do nothing.

@Xoij: A poorly framed picture and a rainbow? I sure hope so.

@Sébastien Noll: Yup, at least that's how I understood this whole sh*tstorm; it was a PR mess, but they're not canning this idea one bit.

Farmville and work in the same sentence.

@Briz9: Not for tech and customer support.

Why not sell the account instead? You won't make all the money spent back, but some of it at least.

@Action Fitz: I still don't see any benefits, where are they exactly?

@Bishopgunn: Except in this situation (WoW discussion forums) you simply don't know them even if real names are shown. This isn't Facebook where you pick who can and who can't see all your info.

@CoKy14: Forum trolls are one thing, decent posters are another; they're exposing real names for both. While trolls may think twice before trashing someone, the decent poster will simply not post at all if s/he has a problem showing his/her real name.

I simply don't understand the premise for using real names in a fantasy setting like WoW. Acti-Blizzard should stick to making games, not a Facebook clone.
