I have Takata airbag charges laying around and i’m afraid to explode them for fun.

85 million is a lot of car specific parts in general, having to remake these parts dating back more than 10 years is going to be a colossal all-hands-on-deck parts order for them to fill. Wonder if they’ll stop producing other parts to meet the demand.

So what happens if you get injured by your airbag before that happens? will they be liable or does the letter say not to drive your car until it’s fixed(making them not liable?)?

Curious if the trim between tail lights, door handles, and maybe even window trim could be available in like a brushed aluminum, polished aluminum, or body color with black window trim. As opposed to the current chrome(it is chrome in the pictures right?)

But does this account for increased cell phone use and also exponential increase in stupidity across the whole population?

I feel like it’s not a quick change to make this a hatchback, now they need to reinforce the back somehow when they remove the trunk frame and then design all new roof and C pillars.
