I agree. But other than the grappling hook and the falling rock (to a lesser extent), pretty much everything shown in the trailer has been part of the series since MH4.

Over half the trailer showed old content, just used in a new way. That flying dragon near the end is a Rathian, a monster that has been part of the series since the first PS2 game. Terrain deformation/usage has been part of the series since Tri.

Monster Hunter was already in HD. It was on the PS3. It sold like crap.

I don’t think people hate the new mechanics, I just think they’re baffled.

I’d agree with you on everything, if it wasn’t for the fact that the footage kept cutting every 5 seconds. It was like they gave 30 minutes of gameplay footage to Michael Bay and told him “give us a trailer”.

1. Because a single ship can’t be everywhere at once. You also have to account for ships being deployed, in docks (ie. repairs and maintenance) and non-combat purposes (ie. training).
