I don’t think people had a problem with the idea of SO3's ending. I think people had a problem with the idea of SO3 meant for the series.

But thats what SO3 established. The entire series is a video game within a video game, so everyone is SUPPOSED TO BE a stereotypical anime trope.

It matters because a fictional-fictional story means nothing matters : If I hand you a banana and tell you its your chopped off dick, all you can do is stand there confused because you don’t know if its -you- who is seeing things “wrong”, if -I- am the one who is seeing things “wrong” or if I am just screwing around…

Except your headcanon ending solves nothing.
