mine is terrible too. the battery life is worse than the 3yo iphone 4 I replaced. I've turned off almost all of the location services and all that, and it's still terrible. I even turned of LTE, since there are only a couple places near me that I actually get it. I'll try out what RDJ linked and see if that helps.

Check your Location Services in Settings access and usage, sometimes that's the culprit. I had the Google App installed and the Now feature was constantly checking for location eating up my battery. My iPhone battery life on T-Mobile has been abysmal. It never lasts a whole day anymore under normal use, no phone use, just texting and web, and lately its been dying with 7-9% battery remaining.
