i keep cords organized by labelling them with small pieces of paper that i cut out and tape around the cord. serves the same purpose, but it's neater-looking.
If you use high quality tea—and even not so high quality—you probably don't want to be boiling/simmering it. Ideally, for the best flavour and least bitterness so as not to destroy the tea, bring water to a boil then let it sit for a minute and then pour it over the tea.
Wow, I admire this guy's dedication to shaving. This video was cute. He's got his morning ritual. I'm sure if you set yourself up nicely at the start like he did, you could make shaving zen-like (like Scott mentioned). We all need some enjoyable rituals, I just get mine from waxing (which is a bit more painful lol).…
I use this on Mac and I love it, it's awesome. Much faster than inline PDF viewing in Safari, and I don't have to delete the file after viewing. It's great. There's also the option to download it if you right click.
apparently tea dispenses its caffeine slowly. either way, it's not as much of a kick as coffee. i get lattes for the flavour from my favourite coffee shop and i've become addicted to the taste so much that i find myself craving it. not sure if i'm craving the caffeine or the latte itself, but it's delicious and it…
i'm all about room temperature food, but if i ever jump on the everything-must-be-ice-cold bandwagon, this would be super cool (once i invest in a vacuum sealer).
back in the day my mom used to do my taxes when i had a job in high school and she'd file them like 3 years late and stuff and i didn't notice anything bad happen.
what's with all these short-winded people who have to gasp for air before recording a message? are these people who clutch their chest after climbing a flight of stairs? i've never done this gasp thing you speak of (but now i'll be more conscious and look out for it just in case).
this is one of the stupidest things i've ever seen. how is it that someone even has this problem, and secondly does something this crazy as a "solution".... maybe if you adjust your chair or use a shorter table or push the macbook back a bit or hold your hands a certain way you won't have to take destructive tools to…
@pinkskittles: and for the record, my cheapo HDMI cable is also gold plated lol
I bought my HDMI cable and mini-DisplayPort to HDMI adapter for my mac on Amazon.ca. I think it came to around $25CAD after tax and shipping. Under $30 definitely. I was debating getting a Monster cable from Future Shop but then I was like "ummm... why is this $50+ and Amazon has it for under $30 including an adapter…
I normally order lattes from independent shops but recently I ordered a French pressed extra dark roast at Starbucks and I found that it not only tasted better than a latte (to me) but the energy I got from it lasted longer. Also less dairy means less upset stomach/bloating for those of us who can't tolerate it as…

@neild: this doesn't work for me. would it be because i'm running snow leopard or because i have glims and glimmerblocker installed?
@c1natra: i like smultron. i've tried TextMate, TextWrangler and BBEdit but i don't like them all that much. BBEdit is not lightweight at all, and neither is TextWrangler. I also agree that TextMate's price is a bit much, especially when there are similar apps available for free. i don't know what the extent of your…
omg weirdos!!!! nobody needs to know how to do those things.
Great post! I signed up to volunteer with a local women run bike fixing group. If you volunteer—which basically entails walking around with tape, a Sharpie and a clipboard and helping people lift bikes if they need it—you get to learn all the skills taught in the class, while making yourself useful. Look out for…
