Fucking Brexits — how do they work?
Bonus star cred for putting quotes around we.
Because
I get that, and I understand the source of most of the objections. I don’t begrudge people their opinion, but harping on it for merely existing—and especially when it gets a call indisputably correct—brings out my inner snark.
Yes, and I spent the time talking to my companions about something else or checking my phone.
Ah, totally agreed! Last sentence just rang with a really Newspeak-y kind of vibe.
“Look at this guy, inventing words we never heard before, and new usage for words that already exist. Hey dad, I can’t see real good, is that Bill Shakespeare over there?”
No? Not speaking to this particular case, but interesting results happen when you challenge convention. Poetry, irony, slang, localized vernacular communication.
You think two penalty kick saves in a game is boring?
I only said that to explain why I didn’t originally reply with something more serious, and I admitted your point of view had merit. If you’re hellbent on being a dick about it, cool man.
Are you one of those guys who proposes absurdly extreme conditions to discredit someone else’s opinion?
Cool.
I can be fine with the previous system and the current system.
Looking for a good time, big boy?
That’s a totally fair opinion to have. But you also said “Allowing a technically correct call to pass without blowing the whistle because it doesn’t actually affect the run of play used to be an option,”
I can be fine with the previous system and the current system. The rationale you present doesn’t hold in the slightest degree. That, plus the namecalling for someone who ostensibly holds a different opinion than your own, make your approach more Trumpian than me.
For the record, I completely understand the argument in favor of human error being part of the game, and even the concern about time.
When you eat dinner one night, does that limit the enjoyment of the dinner you ate the previous night?
I’m having fun with like-minded people who think this handwringing over VAR is silly. I think the handwringing over VAR is silly precisely because it doesn’t limit my enjoyment of a soccer game.
